What Is WAV


WAV stands for Waveform Audio File Format that was created by Microsoft and uses uncompressed technology to produce high quality sound. A Wave file is identified by a file name extension of WAV (.wav). Though WAV is mostly used in Windows, it is also applied to Linux and Macintosh operating system. Since WMV is uncompressed, it outputs large file size. Other sound formats such as MP3, WMA have appeared that are smaller as they have been compressed.
