Question: Hi, I just got an iPad as my birthday gift from my dad. I love playing games and it would be nice if you guys can recommend some great video games available for Apple iPad and the link to them if possible. Thanks.

Answer:

Angry Birds HD

$4.99

The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole the Birds’ eggs. Use the unique destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs’ fortified castles. Angry Birds features hours of gameplay, challenging physics-based castle demolition, and lots of replay value. If you're unfamiliar with the game, think of other similar 2D physics puzzles in which you much knock down structures. Your goal in each level is to take out all the evil green piggies using a variety of unique birds, each with their own destructive ability.

Babylonian Twins HD

$2.99

Think The Prince of Persia meets The Lost Vikings with a twist: You control two characters, the twin princes of Babylonian, one at a time and each with different skills, to solve challenging puzzles in a fast-paced action and smooth scrolling in a unique historic atmosphere derived from history texts. We found the game to be extremely challenging--despite it's kid-friendly art--and its head-scratching puzzles are incredibly satisfying to solve. With that being said, the best target audience for this game is the older crowd that can appreciate a truly challenging platformer. Worthy of special mention is the original Iraqi-influenced musical score, which is both soothing and appropriate for the setting of the game.

Broken Sword HD

$7.99

Paris in the Fall… a brutal murder at the Palais Royale. When Nico Collard is invited to interview statesman Pierre Carchon, she finds herself inextricably drawn into a terrifying conspiracy. Redubbed as Circle of Blood for its stateside release, the first Broken Sword was heralded by critics as a beautiful piece of interactive work that shouldn't be missed by any fan of point-and-click adventure games. This new Director's Cut version of the game adds in several new segments to the game's core story which allow players to slip into the shoes of Nicole (one of the game's two main characters) for the first time. In addition to the new segments, new art and animation has been provided by Dave Gibbons, who many will recognize from his work on the Watchmen comic series. Several user-friendly features like a hint system have been added into the iPad release of this game, so if you're interested in the genre, don't be afraid to pick this one up.

Foosball HD

$2.99

If you’e a Foosball fan, Illusion Labs Foosball HD will feel very familiar to you. Use your figures to pass and shoot the ball into your opponent’s goal while blocking the ball from going into your own goal. This game is easy to pick up, looks and plays beautifully; Quite frankly, it's a showpiece for the iPad.

Geometry Wars: Touch
